2014 DLSU Manila Sumobot Competition

02:04
Several schools & colleges competed against each other with their fully autonomous sumobots. The competition took place in DLSU, Manila last July 26, 2014. The challange was for the robot to find its opponent (usually accomplished with infrared or ultra-sonic sensors) and to push it out of the flat arena. The rule: last one standing wins. Elizabeth Seton School (Team A) was able to rank 1st (champion), UE ranked 2nd and Elizabeth Seton School (Team B) ranked 3rd in De La Salle Manila's sumobot competition. DLSU on the other hand, won the Royal Rumble challenge. ____________________________ School Participants: - Assumption Collage - CSA - DLSU Manila - Elizabeth Seton School - MCG - Pamantasan Ng Lungsod Ng Manila - University of the East

Make A Mini Combustion Rifle (BBs + Alcohol)

02:49
Build a gun that uses gas expansion ignition from alcohol for propelling projectiles such as BBs. This project gives you a glimpse of how old muskets work. Since gun powder is too dangerous, we'll work with handwash alcohol. How to use it: First, open the barrel. Spray your fuel in the combustion chamber. You are free to experiment with different combustible liquids but "Denatured Alcohol" works best for me. Next, chamber in your projectile in the barrel. You can use all sorts of projectiles but due to safety reasons, better stick to paper, seeds and BBs. You can use some cotton to hold your projectile in place and having a better seal with the barrel.

Generating Electricity By Walking - Google Science Fair 2014

06:08
Did you know that you can produce electricity by just walking? Here's my documentation of the gizmo that I've conceptualize over the years. It's a shoe insole that generates electricity solely by walking! ____________Read More....______________ Curious what my projects are? Feel free to visit: - GSF 2014 Entry: http://goo.gl/fXW0H4 - Instructables: http://www.instructables.com/member/ASCAS/?show=INSTRUCTABLES _____________________________________ This is my entry for the "2014 Google Science Fair" Results: The results showed that it was possible to charge a powerbank after playing 2 straight hours of basketball. Though the output was a bit faint but showed signs that the project can be developed. Reflection/ Future Design: People's first impression upon seeing this project was like "Why in the world would I like to charge my phone with a shoe?". Yes it sounds very ridiculous and impractical, on the contrary the project has opened doors for new designs for technology. The project is ideal for smart clothing, sport apparels that sync to your smart device/phone/watch wirelessly. It can supply an independent power for on-board chips, chips to be mounted on smart shoes/ apparels. Author/ Editor/ Entrant: Angelo Casimiro Background Music: The XX - Intro (Itunes Free Version)

DIY Budget Microphone Pop-Filter (Socks + Container)

03:42
On a budget? Build a microphone pop-filter out of old socks and a food container! What Is It For? Pop filters are necessary for anything voice related. It helps with sounds such as 'P' and 'B'; This is called plosives. Plosives is extra air going onto the microphone causing a very annoying heavy breath/bass sound. I use this project for narrating most of my project tutorials. It really helps a lot in making your audio records cleaner! I use it it making music covers, in twitch streaming and in my projects. _________________________ Things You'll Need: - Plastic Food Container - Spandex Cloth or Similar (Socks & Stockings) - Chicken Wire - Aquarium Tubing - Black Spray Paint - Gluegun - Scissors - Super Glue -

HealthBand: A Remotely Monitored Health Status Bracelet

03:31
HealthBand is an innovative solution for detecting and locating a person whose health in in grave danger. It's mostly designed as a remote rescue system for people who are at risk of having stroke, cardiac arrest and heart attack. HealthBand is a smartphone synced mobile health monitoring bracelet capable of reading a human's vital signs (pulse rate and body-temperature). I've designed this project for my grandma, so that we could monitor her when no one's home to be with her. If the bracelet detects life threatening vital readings, the phone synced to the bracelet will automatically call my mom or my dad to prompt if my grandparents are ok. If grandma doesn't answer the phone, we would know that something could possibly have happened. THE BIGGER PICTURE: The project isn't only limited for tracking fellow individuals. The project can still be developed to meet medical standards. Once it does, hospitals can use the HealthBand project to monitor their outpatients. Patients who are at risk of unpredictable health conditions such us having Seizures, Stroke, Cardiac Arrest and Heart Attack. If an incident does occur, the bracelet can predict it before it even occurs, the HealthBand system would be able to notify the nearest hospital by sending the exact GPS coordinates of the person in need. Build A Bluetooth Boombox Speaker (from scratch)

15:36
This video tutorial will teach you everything you need to know in building a Homemade Bluetooth Boombox! So far this is the loudest one I've made, and one of best sounding ones in my DIY speaker collection. This boombox is powered by long lasting rechargeable Li-ion batteries. In addition, I added a passive subwoofer (driver) at the back of the boombox for louder bass. It uses a two way speaker setup, designed for a full HiFi experience. The speaker drivers are driven by a 2x25W High Efficiency (Class-D) Bluetooth Amplifier Module. The amp module that I have used also comes with wireless command features, making it possible to control your music wirelessly. Everything is housed on a DIY wooden enclosure, made from MDF material. I lined the outer part of the enclosure with cloth such as denim and red canvas to give the boombox a hip, modern and stylish finish. _________________________ Full Tutorial: (UPDATED as of 11/30/2016) http://www.instructables.com/id/Build-a-Bluetooth-Boombox-Speaker-from-Scratch/?ALLSTEPS _________________________ Bluetooth Amplifier: - 2x25W TDA7492P Bluetooth Amplifier Board (http://bit.ly/1MgkvNd) _________________________ Contact Me At: • FACEBOOK: https://goo.gl/hqhpS9 • INSTAGRAM: https://goo.gl/Xf7ixB • TWITTER: https://goo.gl/oPo5iU

DIY BB8 (Behind The Scenes) - Dry Run # 1

This is one of the behind the scenes clips! View them on the BB8 playlist on my channel! ______________ Scene Description: In this early stage of testing. I tested if the inner and outer magnetic mechanisms work. This is v2.0 of my build. It uses the same materials but uses a different mechanism (single axis orientation). I'm currently remodeling the head to make it lighter. The external head rollers works! Same as my previous build, no 3D printers nor CNCs were used. The body is made with paper mache, deodorant roll-ons & wooden mechanism chassis. Hope this would give motivation and hope to those who are struggling to make theirs work. Never give up! May the force be with you! I'll bring this guy to the mall and make a reaction video soon! ^_^

DIY Boombox Demo (Model: ASCAS-B12)

02:37
Here's a video on my finished boombox. You can go to "http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Portable-Boombox-Audiophile-Quality/ " for the step by step guide. My version was so efficient that it even had the capability to beat or match-up the sound of the Monster™ Beatbox (by Dr. Dre), Zeppeline™ Air, Altec Lancing™ IMT800 and IM7. My boombox has the capability to release a clean, deep and low bass, with the perfect midrange level and has a spectacular treble that seems to sooth the ear. It has a two way speaker system which will definitely reduce the amount of distortion given off by the speakers thus improving your audio experience. The whole thing caused me ₱ 2,760.00 (Philippine Peso) if converted to dollars it will cost $64.30 (American Dollar), that's six times cheaper than the Monster™ Beatbox. It's extremely practical to build since the materials in our country are extremely cheap. Woofer speakers (5.25 inches") that can drive from 45Hz -6kHz only costs ₱ 310 ($ 7.30) per piece, while the fullrange neodymium speaker (1.75 inch") that can reach frequencies from 150Hz - 20kHz only costes me ₱100 ($ 2.30) while the parts and materials that I used to make my own amplifier only costed me ₱410 ($ 9.70). If you are wondering, why are parts and materials cheap in the Philippines? The answer: it's because we are close to the countries of Japan, China Taiwan (Prominent Electronic Manufacturers) so the tax and shipment fees are very cheap or low. Our country, also produces electronic parts, specially the semiconductor products. Wood here are also cheap, a 4x8 ft. plywood only costs ₱150 ($ 3.50), that's why the previous Americans during the world war II chose to make the boats, used for d-day, out of wood that came from the Philippines (Mahogany Wood). Specs: Frequency response: 45Hz-20kHz Max Amplifier Wattage: 2x30W Stereo BTL Max Speaker Wattage: 150W-200W RMS Speaker Size: Woofer (5.25"), Fullrange (1.75") Enclosure's Dimensions: H= 5.75", L= 19", D=6" Other Feature's: iPod Dock, USB Media Reader, IR Remote, Bass Trebble Equalizer and etc. Audio Input Type: RCA, Auxiliary (3.5 Stereo) and 30 pin iPod Dock.

Cheap $25 Wireless Mic For DSLRs (Mod & Review: Fifine k037)

12:21
With a few mods, here's a $25 wireless mic that you could use for your DSLR! The Fifine K037 is a digitally controlled 20-channel UHF wireless lapel system. It was originally designed to work with audio systems where you could plug it into an audio mixer. Apparently, it uses a 1/4" audio jack, making in incompatible with most DSLRs out of the box. Audio adapters may be available online, but using one would only give you a mono output. This mod will teach you how to add an Female audio jack to this wireless mic having a combined mono to get a Mono-Stereo output. Discounted Product Link: https://goo.gl/UwKF3R
