Heat Exchange

05:04
047- Heat Exchange In this video Paul Andersen explains how energy can be transferred from warmer objects to colder objects through heat. Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in a substance. When two objects are in contact collisions between the particles will transfer energy from the warmer object in the form of heat. YouTube Settings Do you speak another language? Debt/car-free tiny house couple: simple living + resilience

17:35
Six years ago, Tammy Strobel was unhappy- "I was commuting 2 hours a day, going to a job I hated, overweight, unhappy, kind of middle class plight". Then she watched a youtube video featuring Dee Williams and her tiny home- a moment she calls her "turning point"- and she began to dream about less. Prior to downsizing Tammy and her husband, Logan Smith, were living in a two-bedroom apartment, driving two cars, commuting long distances and $30,000 in debt, but they were hesitant change the status quo. "Initially, we resisted the idea of moving into a smaller one-bedroom apartment because we were more concerned about appearances and space for guests than for our financial well-being. We decided something needed to change once we realized our debt was causing us so much stress." Tammy and Logan began with small steps. They sold one car and moved into a one bedroom apartment. Next it was a 400 square foot home. Today they are car-free and living in a 128-square-foot home on wheels (designed by Dee Williams' company PAD). Along the way, the couple shed weight, stress, debt and the unhappiness they felt being tied to jobs they didn't enjoy. Today, Tammy is a full-time blogger/photographer/teacher. Tammy recently published a book titled "You Can Buy Happiness (and It's Cheap)", but she explains that it's not exactly happiness that she pursues, but resilience. "Jobs move, people lose jobs, people die," she explains, "So how can you structure your life so that you're more flexible and embrace the good stuff even when loss makes it really really difficult?" One of the biggest side effects of living in a small, mortgage-free home on wheels is the freedom to move, something that has served them well in the past year. When Tammy's father had a stroke, unfettered by home or car loans, Tammy was able to be with him during the last months of his life. When Logan lost his job (it was transferred to Boston), they were able to pick up their home and move from Portland to Northern California to be closer to family. For their first move, they attached their tiny, wheeled home to the back of a pickup truck and drove the 400 miles from Portland to Logan's family cattle ranch in Montague, California (in exchange for free rent they put in "workshare" hours). Within the year, they moved again to be closer to Tammy's mother: this time they parked in her yard in Red Bluff, CA. Again within the same year, they moved to a more permanent home in Chico (their college town and still close enough to family) where they pay $500 in rent for an empty lot and hookups (it was previously occupied by a mobile home). "Even though the past year has been a lot of upheaval with moving the house, like it's harder than you think to move the tiny house and stressful and all that, but I'm really grateful for that because we've had that flexibility to really be there for family", explains Tammy. Her father's death "was part of the reason we decided to move back home just to be closer to family and really focus on that because that's what matters, you only get one shot." IQRS - Informatics 2013 - Bojan Furlan

26:50
"The Role of Semantic Similarity for Intelligent Question Routing," Bojan Furlan, Slavko Žitnik, Boško Nikolić, Marko Bajec, in Informatics 2013 Abstract—Intelligent Question Routing Systems (IQRS) serve as a knowledge exchange medium in an arbitrary field of expertise, where intensive communication between users is required. The benefit coming from deployment of such systems includes: (a) reducing unnecessary "pinging" of experts, which are a valuable resource and (b) increasing the system owners' (e.g. enterprise, government, university) quality of service, since users are more satisfied with answers, because their questions are answered by the right persons. In this paper we investigate the role of semantic similarity for each stage of IQRS process. For question and answer analysis we use semantic enrichment, more precisely semantic query expansion with ConceptNet, WordNet (Antelope), and SemNet, as well as TF-IDF and IQRS system features. Also, for question routing stage we proposed an algorithm used for calculating semantic similarity between question and profile. Finally, for evaluation we used subset of Yahoo! Answers L6 dataset from which we extracted three different types of users: (1) Top questioneers, (2) Top answerers, and (3) Top questioneers and answerers at the same. Based on carried experiments we found that, besides expertise, interest profiling can improve system performances. Full paper you can find here: http://home.etf.bg.ac.rs/~bfurlan/index_files/Page346.htm

"Hi Evan I have not read anything from the E-mail yet but already my heart is beating fast from excitement. Thank you so much. Just one problem that I have had and I hope you can help me with. I run a sound hiring company. Hiring out microphone, speakers and dj equipment for co-operate and commercial events, I'm so passionate about it that I dropped out of a mechanical engineering studies. Now I'm very good at this, but when it comes to designing a proposal to a potential customer or actually convincing a customer about my business I suck on that and really its pointless running a business and not have any customers. I have gone as far as setting really low prices and I think its because of the desperation to get work. How can I solve this Desperate: Raymond"

Powerful Content Marketing

17:37
Content marketing is the creation of valuable content that has a marketing purpose. For example, my company creates an awesome special report, and we exchange it for your email address and your permission to educate you further about our stuff. Copywriting is designed to get the reader to take a specific action. Sometimes that's making a purchase, but it can also be confirming an email opt-in, calling for more information, or going into a store to check out the merchandise. Content marketing is blogs, white papers, and viral video. Copywriting is sales pages, infomercials, and direct mail. Remember, copywriting is the art of convincing your reader to take a specific action. And yes, it's still copywriting if it takes place in a podcast or video ... if you're doing it well. The thoughtful use of copywriting techniques on your blog will get readers to subscribe to your content, opt in for more from your email newsletter, and share your great stuff with other readers. That's how you build a large, loyal audience. So, here are 5 ways to open your post that will capture the reader's imagination and pull them deeper into your content. 1. Ask a Question Opening your post with a question is a rhetorical device, hence, the "rhetorical question" that creates curiosity and gets the reader thinking. Thinking equals active engagement with your writing, and that's a very good thing. 2. Share an Anecdote or Quote Anecdotes are quick stories that can make people laugh or immediately establish the main point of your post. A nice quote from a recognizable authority or famous person can also work wonders when holding attention in those crucial opening seconds. 3. Invoke the Mind's Eye Producing a mental image in a reader's mind is one of the most powerful things you can ever do as a writer, so expressly engaging the imagination is a powerful opening technique. Activate the mind's eye of the reader by using words like "imagine," "picture this," "do you remember when," etc. 4. Use an Analogy, Metaphor or Simile Analogies, metaphors and similes are some of the most powerful devices available when it comes to telling a story in a single sentence. This is a great way to capture a reader's attention and also acts to provoke mental imagery that allows readers to tell a story to themselves. 5. Cite a Shocking Statistic Starting off with an interesting factoid is also a great technique. People love being provided with interesting data, but only if it is unique, startling, or even shocking. The statistic should also be directly relevant to the point of your post as well. http://youtu.be/8g-nKSbjwmM

Photosynthesis | Photosynthesis in plants | Photosynthesis - Biology basics for children | Science | elearnin Photosynthesis Hello Kids .... Do you know how plants make their own food? No?? This video elaborates the process of Photosynthesis, by which plants make their own food. Photosynthesis is the process used by the plants to make their food. In simpler terms, conversion of light energy into chemical energy by plants is called photosynthesis. This chemical energy is used by the plants for growth and nourishment. Photo means light and synthesis means putting together. Humans need some essential things like fire, water, vegetables etc to cook food. Similarly, to make their own food, plants also need some essential factors like Light, water, nutrients, soil etc Plants get light from the sun, water from the ground and carbon dioxide from air. All these factors including air, water, carbondioxide and sunlight together help plants churn out their own food. Plants have tubes called Xylem located in the stem through which the water from the ground is sucked into the leaves. This system works similar to the humans sucking in liquids through a straw. The Xylem is spread throughout the different parts of plant including stem, branches, all the way upto their leaves, and transports vital nutrients to the entire plant. Xylems in plants are like blood vessels in the human body that act as an important means of transport for water and nutrients. Leaves on the plants have pores, very similar to pores on the skin of our body. These pores are called stomata. These stomata are responsible for the exchange of gases. The carbon dioxide present in the air, which is responsible for photosynthesis, enters the plant through these stomata. Oxygen also comes out from the same stomata. Leaf has important cells called Mesophyll cells. These cells contain a green color component called chloroplast. This chloroplast is responsible for the green color of plants and leaves. Once the carbon dioxide and water reach the chloroplasts, in the presence of sunlight, the process of photosynthesis starts to take place. The following reaction takes places in the leaves of the plant during photosynthesis: Carbon dioxide + water + [in the presence of light energy] → Oxygen + glucose (or Carbohydrates) The products formed are glucose and oxygen. Carbohydrates, which are a form of glucose, are synthesized from carbon dioxide and water. Glucose is used by the plants for the growth. Some of the glucose is used immediately and the extra glucose which is not used is stored in the form of starch, in the leaves. Some amount of glucose is also stored in the roots of the plants. The extra glucose is used to perform photosynthesis when there is no sunlight. Oxygen is given out into the air through the stomata in the process of photosynthesis. The oxygen that is released is used by human beings to breathe in during their respiration process. Ever wondered why this process is called photosynthesis? The word photosynthesis is a combination of two words: Photo and Synthesis. Photo means light in Greek and Synthesis means putting together or combining. Hence, photosynthesis literally means combining water and carbon dioxide in the presence of light. So, the essential factors for photosynthesis to take place include: • Sunlight • Water • Carbon dioxide Underwater photosynthesis takes place at a slower pace than the normal photosynthesis. This is because energy from the sun is absorbed by the water layers and only some amount of the energy reaches the plant. There are some plants which don't need the process of photosynthesis to grow. Such plants include Mushroom, Venus flytrap etc. Mushroom gets the food from the ground and its surrounding areas. Venus flytrap traps and catches small insects which come near the leaves and eat them.

No Vaseline

04:05
No Vaseline Ice Cube Released 1991 Death Row Greatest Hits Disc 1 If you like this song buy the album here: http://www.amazon.com/Death-Row-Greatest-Various-Artists/dp/B00005AQGM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1363675851&sr=8-2&keywords=death+row+greatest+hits --------------------------------------------- Wikipedia Description The song was a diss track aimed towards Ice Cube's former bandmates in the group N.W.A (which he left in 1989) and their manager, Jerry Heller. Ice Cube recorded this song after the comments N.W.A made towards him in their albums 100 Miles and Runnin' and Efil4zaggin. The first minute of the song is a reference to N.W.A's "Message to B.A.", in which they call Ice Cube "Benedict Arnold". Ice Cube then begins his full-blown diss on the group and their manager. Ice Cube addresses Eazy-E and Heller with particularly harsh words, criticizing Eazy's decision to align himself with Heller ("Heard you both got the same bank account!/Dumb nigga, What you thinkin' about?!/Get rid of that devil real simple, put a bullet in his temple." and "It's a case of divide and conquer, 'cause you let a Jew break up my crew.") and accusing both Eazy-E and Heller of unfairly exploiting the rest of the group ("You little maggot, Eazy E-turned-faggot/With your manager, fella - fuckin' MC Ren, Dr. Dre, and Yella.") Ice Cube also refers to his decision to leave Ruthless Records in the lyric; " You lookin' like straight bozos, I saw it commin', that's why I went solo ... You got jealous when I got my own company. But I'm a man, and ain't nobody humpin' me." Cube also references Eazy's appearance at the lunch benefiting the Republican Senatorial Inner Circle, hosted by then-President George H. W. Bush, repeatedly saying "I never have dinner with the president". N.W.A. never responded to the song. Not long after the release, Dr. Dre left the group, citing lack of monetary compensation. This led to N.W.A.'s group's dissolution as its members went on to start their solo careers. Dr. Dre and his protégé Snoop Dogg later dissed Eazy-E in the song "Fuck wit Dre Day (and Everybody's Celebratin')" and Heller in the video, prompting Eazy-E to respond with "Real Muthaphuckkin G's". When Eazy-E was close to death in 1995 from AIDS, Cube and Dre came to visit him in the hospital in hopes of reconciling with him from their previous dispute. They ended their feud before Eazy's death. The song appears on the Death Row Greatest Hits compilation album. Although the song was not released on Death Row Records, it is believed that Suge Knight included it as an act of animosity towards Dr. Dre as the song includes numerous disses towards him. The word "Jew" is censored on the album although it is not on Death Certificate. The introduction is also removed. No Vaseline was track number 20 in the tracklisting of "Death Certificate" and was the b-side for the album single, "Steady Mobbin'".

The story telling chimp | Katie Slocombe | TEDxHull

17:59
Based at the University of York, Katie's current research focuses on the vocal communication of wild chimpanzees from the Sonso community in Budongo Forest and captive chimpanzees at Edinburgh Zoo. Particular focus is on the extent to which our closest living relatives can use calls to refer to objects and events in the external environment and the psychological mechanisms underlying call production. Katie's other research interests centre around using the comparative approach to understand how elements of human language evolved. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

If you'd like to help create subs for other languages, then contact me. [Dutch & Portuguese below] Excerpts from the historical debate between Michel Foucault and Noam Chomsky have passed the reverse many times in recent years. And there is frequently referred to these two thinkers. Here we will be showing the whole fascinating debate on philosophy and politics that in 1971 was recorded for Dutch television. Noam Chomsky (1928): linguist, historian, philosopher, critic and political activist. As the "father of modern linguistics" (linguistics), he focused on the issue of innate vs.. the learned. In his later career has evolved as a major critic of foreign policy of the United States (from Vietnam to South America to the Middle East) and propaganda in the modern media with one of his major works "Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media". Michel Foucault (1926 - 1984): French philosopher, social theorist, historian and literary critic. In his work he researches power and its workings, how it influenced knowledge and how it is used as a form of social control. He is best known for his critical studies of social institutions such as psychiatry, social anthropology, the prison system and the history of human sexuality. One of his major works is "The Birth of the Prison, Discipline and Punish" (Discipline and Punish: The Birth of the Prison) on changes in the criminal model of punishing the body (corporal punishment) to punish the spirit. This video contains the complete TV-Breadcast. The Political Economy of the Mass Media". TheTruthIsFullOfLies, when you find the truth, you will also find a lot of lies. I am going to do this until you either wake up or I die a martyr. The story of the Hashshashin, from whence the word "assassin" is derived, an Arab/Islam tentacle of Mystery Babylon. Again the symbology, initiations, and esoteric secrets are similar to Freemasonry. The Hashshashin, who utilized drugs, illusion, mind control, covert methods of spying, political assassinations, terrorism, and murder of their enemies, are the forerunners of modern covert "Black Ops" organizations such as the CIA, Mossad, MI-6, Al Qaeda, KGB, and Hezbollah. #42 Mystery Babylon 12: The Templars and The Assassins 51:52 This is Part 12 in a series of live broadcasts by William Cooper on the Hour of the Time shortwave radio program on Mystery Babylon. The rise of the Knight Templars. It is a myth that the Templars were created to defend Jerusalem and pilgrim travelers, for they were created as an Order of the Mystery Religion. An Order cloaked with the appearance of Christianity. The Templars learned their ways from the Hashshashin, with whom they were in contact with in the mid-east. The Templars brought the Mystery Religion back to Europe with them, along with their riches and became the first international bankers. They were the original Communists and introduced Socialism to the nations of Europe and Lorded over the Kings and Princes of Europe. They were the beginning of the modern era's march towards the New World Order. William Cooper also briefly talks about Waco and Ruby Ridge. #43 Mystery Babylon 13: The End of The Templars 1:42:07 This is Part 13 in a series of live broadcasts by William Cooper on the Hour of the Time shortwave radio program on Mystery Babylon. The Oaths of the Templars. The Hospitaliters. Templars richer than the kings and nations they operated in. The Templars, frustrated in their attempt to take back the Holy Land from the Moslem hordes, plotted to turn on the Pope and the Kings of Europe and to overcome all of Christianity. The story of Jacques DeMolay, the persecution and execution of the Templars, and the fall of the Templars who are driven underground. The Baphomet and the adoration of man's intellect. The origins of Friday the 13th and the first October Surprise. #46 Mystery Babylon 14: The Skull and Bones 2:29:06 This is Part 14 in a series of live broadcasts by William Cooper on the Hour of the Time shortwave radio program on Mystery Babylon. England and Scotland became the safe haven for the persecuted and fugitive Templars on the continent. The elusive connection between the Order of The Knight Templars and the Order of Freemasonry is found in the genealogy of the families of the Elite. William Cooper discusses the book, "Born in Blood, the Lost Secrets of Freemasonry", by John J. Robinson. The French Roots of Freemasonry. The Freemason's symbology and ritual confirms the connection with the Templar persecution in France. The Freemasons, who were not, as popularly believed, a guild of medieval stone masons, but an underground secret society to designed to protect the fugitive Templars from the deadly persecution of the Pope and the King of France, were known also as the Sons of Light. The origins of the legend of Hiram Abiff. The connection to the Skull and Bones, the Pirates, the Rosicrucian Order, the French Revolution, the Order of the Quest, the Brotherhood of Death, the Bush family, families of America's elite, the US Intelligence agencies, and the American political parties. #47 Mystery Babylon 15: The Roshaniya 3:15:22 This is Part 15 in a series of live broadcasts by William Cooper on the Hour of the Time shortwave radio program on Mystery Babylon. The Roshaniya, or Illumined Ones of Afghanistan, were a re-emergence of the Cult of the Assassins. The Roshaniya's connection to the Jesuits and the Illuminati of Germany formed by Jesuit Priest, Adam Weishaupt. The USA was designed as the vehicle of Mystery Babylon to forge the world into their "great work", a one word totalitarian socialist government, a government of the elite over the masses. The coming King of the World. The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion. Comparison of the Bavarian Illuminati to the Roshaniya. Now, with the back ground on the Templars, the Assassins, and Roshaniya, we are starting to see the connection to the world events of today with the USA and Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, but there is much more to come.

Horny Andy - System (Fuck!)

04:41
Support Horny Andy and half the proceeds go to Beat Making Lab. ***BUY LINK*** http://www.reverbnation.com/hornyandy/songs What is Beat Making Lab? Beat Making Lab is an electronic music studio small enough to fit in a backpack. We collaborate with communities all around the world; donating laptops, microphones and software to community centers and conducting two-week residencies with talented youth. We film workshops and shoot music videos as part of a weekly web-series with PBS Digital Studios. Our goals include cultural exchange, innovative collaboration, and social/entrepreneurial impact. Beat Making Lab is an initiative of ARTVSM LLC, a production company that funds innovative projects merging the worlds of art and activism, "by any medium necessary". Production funding for the Beat Making Lab web-series is provided, in part, by PBS Digital Studios. LAB2 Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo In June 2012, we set up our first international lab in the Democratic Republic of Congo, partnering with Yole!Africa in Goma to train over 20 young people in music production and entrepreneurship. We reached thousands more through public performances and international media coverage as part of Yole's annual SKIFF Festival (Salaam Kivu International Film Festival). Each student trained in Goma was asked to help train others in their community, to ensure long-term impact. DJ Couler, a Beat Making Lab student and MC from Goma explained the process, "when the instructors return to the United States, for us that will not be the end. It will be more like a continuation, or even a beginning for us because we will be able to teach others how to create their own beats." Why Beat Making? Music is a tool to build dialogue, amplify voice and strengthen solidarity. As hip-hop and electronic music have developed into global culture, there is a growing need for resources, education and software to help youth express themselves in these genres. Beat Making Lab does not require students to be able to read standard music notation, or play a traditional instrument. The participants learn the techniques of beat making through composition, sampling, and songwriting on the most powerful instrument of the 21st century: a laptop. The results are computer-based electronic dance music and hip-hop songs. This approach and pedagogy radically broadens the population that can be served through modern music education. Our Story Beat Making Lab started as an innovative course on music production and entrepreneurship taught in the Music Department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, founded by producer/DJ Stephen Levitin (aka Apple Juice Kid) and Dr. Mark Katz (author of Groove Music: The Art and Culture of the Hip Hop DJ) in 2011. Professor/emcee Pierce Freelon joined Apple Juice Kid to co-teach the popular class in 2012, and was instrumental in transforming the curriculum for implementation in a community setting. Together, Freelon and Apple Juice Kid formed ARTVSM LLC, and initiated a grassroots campaign to crowd-source the funds to donate training and equipment to Yole!Africa. Their efforts culminated in a collaboration with PBS Digital Studios, which will be airing webisodes documenting Beat Making Labs in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Panama, Senegal, Fiji and Ethiopia, each Wednesday on the Beat Making Lab youtube channel.

Though classified as a comedy in the First Folio and sharing certain aspects with Shakespeare's other romantic comedies, the play is perhaps most remembered for its dramatic scenes, and is best known for Shylock and the famous "Hath not a Jew eyes?" speech. Also notable is Portia's speech about "the quality of mercy". The title character is the merchant Antonio, not the Jewish moneylender Shylock, who is the play's most prominent and most famous character.
