Teaching a Handicap girl to Walk I
We are very proud to announce that this little girl, suffering of leg and arm handicap, who arrived at the orphanage almost three years ago, will possibly be able walk all by herself. Imagine the different life she could get, just by learning to go to the bathroom, without any adult help. A generous Sreyka Smile Association donor has arranged for her to get several weekly physiotherapy session, with Jeppe from Danemark, specialized in healing physical handicaps due to head traumas. Jeppe's goal will be to assist the girl in overcoming her physical limits and teach her to become independent.

Armless Artist’s Incredible Paintings

Crippled Beggar Healed in Jesus Name
Jacob Appiah suffered for 6 years. He was very fit and worked very hard providing for his wife and 7 children. Then one day on his way to work everything changed when he felt something snap in his body. After days turned to weeks and weeks to to months, he turned to begging on the streets as the only way to try and put food on the table for his family. When Christ for all Nations brought their Gospel Campaign to Kumasi, Ghana attended hoping for a miracle. As evangelist Daniel Kolenda was praying for the sick, he said, "I also prayed to God, asking him to heal my back. And then I had a feeling that I never had before. I could feel an intense heat all over my back. At first I thought someone hit me from behind, but before I could check, I realized that I could feel my toes. I knew God had healed me and so I threw down my crutches and began walking towards the stage." After that evening at the crusade Jacob told us, "I am so happy! So so happy! I don’t have the words to express how thankful I am to God. Thank you for healing me, thank you for restoring my life!" Watch Jacob tell the story in his own words.

Inspiring and motivational best describe Darius Glover. Darius has been riding dirt bikes since he was 7 years old. Undeterred by those telling him he'd never ride again, Darius has found a way not only to ride dirt bikes, but to compete at the highest level of motocross. woman takes Flu vaccine now she cant walk forward
Doctors have confirmed that a seasonal flu vaccine led to a Virginia woman becoming severely disabled as actors Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy offered their support through their Generation Rescue charity, an organization attempting to raise awareness about the link between vaccines and autism. Former Redskins cheerleader Desiree Jennings was a fit and healthy cheerleader up until two months ago when she got a seasonal flu shot. Ten days after the shot she began experiencing flu like symptoms, followed by severe convulsions and black outs. Now she can barely talk or walk and her life has all but been destroyed. After seeing around 60 doctors, Jennings was eventually diagnosed with dystonia, a paralyzing neurological disorder that causes the muscles to relentlessly contract and spasm. Bizarrely, increased physical activity causes her heart rate to decline, meaning she can run for hours, however, her resting heart rate is 90 and walking a few steps is exhausting and almost impossible. There is no cure for the disease and it gets worse over time. Doctors at Fairfax Inova and Johns Hopkins diagnosed her with a rare neurological disorder called dystonia. They think it was caused by a severe reaction to the flu shot, reports Fox 5 News. Desiree now has difficulty speaking, walking, and even eating. During an interview with FOX 5, she had several seizures. The effects are irreversible. Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet.com Friday, October 16, 2009

Now we will be demonstrating a transfer from a wheelchair to a raised toilet seat with arms. A raised toilet seat with arms is beneficial for the home because it raises the high of the toilet and allows the patient with weakness and poor balance to transfer more safely. The patient is currently in a wheelchair and in a position, ready to make a transfer. The first thing you need to do is make sure the breaks are lock on either side. The next time you would like to do is remove the leg rests so that they are not an obstacle during the transfer. During the transfer you want to make sure you are always on the affect side of the patient in order to guard a weak leg and a weaker arm. The patient's right side is weak, so my knees will be in between their legs, ready to guard the weak knee. My hands will be at their hip and ready to support their body weight. First, I will ask the patient to shift forward in their wheelchair towards the edge of the seat. When they are at the edge of the seat ensure their legs are tucked underneath the seat in a stance that is ready to stand up. When they are getting ready to stand make sure your hands are on their hips, their arms are on the armrest and the top of their body is going to learning forward. They will lean forward and push up from the wheelchair. Once in a standing position we will turn towards their strong side. Stop. When you are directly in front of the toilet have the patient step back until they feel the raised toilet seat. Howard Stern--Dana Plato's Final Interview 1999
First I'd like to thank: https://www.youtube.com/user/professorteeth for having the parts up. I simply DLed those videos and combined them into one. Three sections have about six seconds of silence because I R BAD. One of the pauses is in a rather unfortunate place. :/ I decided to do this because even though I'm familiar with Different Strokes, I never knew what happened to any of the actors except for Gary Coleman. I simply assumed that they were doing just fine. Turns out that I was wrong. I found out about Dana Plato through this Cracked.com article: http://www.cracked.com/blog/4-common-jobs-that-are-way-more-dangerous-than-you-think/ She robbed a store at gunpoint. I found out more about her and she met a sad end(to put it mildly). This interview was the last one before she died the next day of an apparent suicide at the age of 34. Howard and Robin were pretty good to her, but a few of the callers were just SHIT. GOD. Some of them were just nasty, and Dana did her best to remain upbeat despite the bullshit. Honestly, I think she was more tragic than Gary Coleman.

Got to do a mini training sesh today with Taylor. I definitely didn't push it, but I am proud of the two clips that I got. And Taylor was killing it with really creative, smooth movement! I like the added challenge of figuring out ways to move without setting down my right foot (as I'm not supposed to do any kind of weight-bearing yet), but it does feel really good to move and there's solace in the fact that while I may be crippled for the time-being, my creativity and values are not going anywhere

SmartGlamour Round Tables - Disabled Women + Femmes - Part 3
Excited to release our final video in the SmartGlamour Video series of Round Table Discussions with Disabled Women + Femmes! We brought in 4 disabled women + femmes to chat about their disability, their bodies, how the two intersect, and also the importance of community. I think we all wish that we lived in a world where just by nature of being a human being, everyone was treated with equal respect, compassion, and thoughtfulness. Unfortunately, we know that is not the case. It is often the case that the more we know or are surrounded by a group of people - the more we fight for their rights and support them. And especially now - it is important to listen and learn from those who have different lived experiences from our own. So I hope able bodied allies listen to these incredible people and learn - and I hope disabled people feel represented in some way. For our final video, they are chatting about the importance of community, allyship, and representation. Enjoy!

How Much Force Does It Take To Break A Bone?
It seems like some people break bones all the time, while others consistently end up unscathed. What exactly does it take to break a bone? Check out Seeker VR! The actor was injured in June 2014 at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire as he reprised his role as Han Solo. He was struck by a metal door on the set of the Millennium Falcon spaceship." Brute Force: Humans Can Sure Take a Punch http://www.livescience.com/6040-brute-force-humans-punch.html "So how much does it take to crack a bone? And how much mayhem can a person deal out? In an era when "extreme fighting" has become a popular phenomenon, scientists are testing the extremes that athletes at the peak of their game can reach in order to help the rest of us." Bone Resilience Depends on Angle of Attack https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/bone-resilience-depends-o/ "Sometimes all it takes to break a bone is a step in the wrong direction or, more specifically, a force applied in the same direction as the line-up of the nano-size collagen fibers that give bone its strength. New research shows that bones react to forces from certain directions like reinforced plastics and from others like brittle ceramics." ____________________ DNews is dedicated to satisfying your curiosity and to bringing you mind-bending stories & perspectives you won't find anywhere else! Veteran Responds After Customer Screams About His Service Dog in Restaurant
Video showing a woman losing her temper over a service dog in a restaurant has burned up the internet. "You have an animal in a public restaurant!" the woman screams, pointing to an Army veteran and his Great Dane, a PTSD service dog. "It's disgusting to have an animal inside a public restaurant!" she shouts. Told that the dog is there to calm its owner, who served in the military, she yells "Congratulations! So what? It's still nasty to me." Tempers escalated as she argued with another patron.
