Now we will be demonstrating a transfer from a wheelchair to a raised toilet seat with arms. A raised toilet seat with arms is beneficial for the home because it raises the high of the toilet and allows the patient with weakness and poor balance to transfer more safely. The patient is currently in a wheelchair and in a position, ready to make a transfer. The first thing you need to do is make sure the breaks are lock on either side. The next time you would like to do is remove the leg rests so that they are not an obstacle during the transfer. During the transfer you want to make sure you are always on the affect side of the patient in order to guard a weak leg and a weaker arm. The patient's right side is weak, so my knees will be in between their legs, ready to guard the weak knee. My hands will be at their hip and ready to support their body weight. First, I will ask the patient to shift forward in their wheelchair towards the edge of the seat. When they are at the edge of the seat ensure their legs are tucked underneath the seat in a stance that is ready to stand up. When they are getting ready to stand make sure your hands are on their hips, their arms are on the armrest and the top of their body is going to learning forward. They will lean forward and push up from the wheelchair. Once in a standing position we will turn towards their strong side. Stop. When you are directly in front of the toilet have the patient step back until they feel the raised toilet seat. woman takes Flu vaccine now she cant walk forward
Doctors have confirmed that a seasonal flu vaccine led to a Virginia woman becoming severely disabled as actors Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy offered their support through their Generation Rescue charity, an organization attempting to raise awareness about the link between vaccines and autism. Former Redskins cheerleader Desiree Jennings was a fit and healthy cheerleader up until two months ago when she got a seasonal flu shot. Ten days after the shot she began experiencing flu like symptoms, followed by severe convulsions and black outs. Now she can barely talk or walk and her life has all but been destroyed. After seeing around 60 doctors, Jennings was eventually diagnosed with dystonia, a paralyzing neurological disorder that causes the muscles to relentlessly contract and spasm. Bizarrely, increased physical activity causes her heart rate to decline, meaning she can run for hours, however, her resting heart rate is 90 and walking a few steps is exhausting and almost impossible. There is no cure for the disease and it gets worse over time. Doctors at Fairfax Inova and Johns Hopkins diagnosed her with a rare neurological disorder called dystonia. They think it was caused by a severe reaction to the flu shot, reports Fox 5 News. Desiree now has difficulty speaking, walking, and even eating. During an interview with FOX 5, she had several seizures. The effects are irreversible. Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet.com Friday, October 16, 2009

Howard Stern--Dana Plato's Final Interview 1999
First I'd like to thank: https://www.youtube.com/user/professorteeth for having the parts up. I simply DLed those videos and combined them into one. Three sections have about six seconds of silence because I R BAD. One of the pauses is in a rather unfortunate place. :/ I decided to do this because even though I'm familiar with Different Strokes, I never knew what happened to any of the actors except for Gary Coleman. I simply assumed that they were doing just fine. Turns out that I was wrong. I found out about Dana Plato through this Cracked.com article: http://www.cracked.com/blog/4-common-jobs-that-are-way-more-dangerous-than-you-think/ She robbed a store at gunpoint. I found out more about her and she met a sad end(to put it mildly). This interview was the last one before she died the next day of an apparent suicide at the age of 34. Howard and Robin were pretty good to her, but a few of the callers were just SHIT. GOD. Some of them were just nasty, and Dana did her best to remain upbeat despite the bullshit. Honestly, I think she was more tragic than Gary Coleman.

We are very proud to announce that this little girl, suffering of leg and arm handicap, who arrived at the orphanage almost three years ago, will possibly be able walk all by herself. Somewhere Around Barstow - Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1/10) Movie CLIP (1998) HD
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas movie clips: http://j.mp/1yzoXod BUY THE MOVIE: http://amzn.to/ufvdw9 Don't miss the HOTTEST NEW TRAILERS: http://bit.ly/1u2y6pr CLIP DESCRIPTION: Driving to Vegas in a convertible, Duke (Johnny Depp) and Dr. Gonzo (Benicio Del Toro) start to hallucinate when their drugs begin to take hold. FILM DESCRIPTION: Terry Gilliam (Brazil, Twelve Monkeys, The Fisher King) directed this colorful, stylized, pseudo-psychedelic $21-million adaptation of the 1971 Hunter S. Thompson classic, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey into the Heart of the American Dream, about stoned sportswriter Raoul Duke, Thompson's alter ego, on a wild drug-crazed road trip, a paranoid plummet into the belly of the beast, with his pal, lawyer Oscar Zeta Acosta. Originally serialized in Rolling Stone (November 1971), the book catapulted Thompson headfirst toward the Kerouac-Mailer-Capote pantheon and jump-started the entire movement of "gonzo journalism." Carrying a suitcase of drugs, Raoul Duke (Johnny Depp with shaved pate) and his attorney Dr. Gonzo (Benicio Del Toro) drive a red convertible across the Mojave from L.A. to Vegas, where Duke has an assignment to cover the Mint 400 desert motorcycle race. As the drugs kick in, Duke ventures into voiceover, filling in the blank spots and narrative gaps. "This is not a good town for psychedelic drugs," says Duke, but even so, they consume vast quantities, eventually escalating to ether. Duke notes that with ether "you can actually watch yourself behaving this terrible way, but you can't control it." The two trash their hotel room, and Gonzo goes back to L.A. Thinking the hotel room holocaust will lead to an arrest, Duke begins a drive back to L.A., but after an odd encounter with a highway patrolman (Gary Busey) and a telephone conversation with Gonzo, he returns to Vegas to cover the District Attorney Convention on Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs in the glitzy Flamingo Hotel. This time the drugged-out duo trash their Flamingo room. The crazed carnival atmosphere segues into a carney casino, Bazooko's Circus, where a barker (Penn Jillette) spiels amid aerialists, clowns, and a rotating carousel bar. Gonzo worries over runaway teen Lucy (Christina Ricci), who paints portraits of Barbra Streisand. Soon the hallucinations begin: Duke sees Gonzo transmogrify into a demon with breasts on its back, and an acid vision of a Vegas bar features large legit lounge lizards (courtesy of monster makeup man Rob Bottin). Flashbacks depicting Duke's intro to the drug scene jump back to love-Haight relationships in San Francisco's Summer of Love. Cameos and guest stars include Mark Harmon, Cameron Diaz, Flea, Lyle Lovett, Harry Dean Stanton, Ellen Barkin, Tobey Maguire, and Hunter S. Thompson himself. The film features a Geffen Records soundtrack mixing rock of the period with Vegas lounge tunes. Over the years, various script adaptations came and went as did numerous talents; people connected with past efforts to film Thompson's book include Martin Scorsese, Jack Nicholson, Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, and writer-director Alex Cox. Shown in competition at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival. Woman With Muscular Dystrophy Won't Let Her Wheelchair Slow Her Down; Casts For Beyonce
30-year-old model Jillian Mercado was was born and raised in New York City. At the age of three her family found out that she wasn’t an ordinary child; didn’t cry or crawl much like the other babies did. Her parents took her to a near by hospital only to find out she had Cerebral Palsy, which later led to her being diagnosed with Spastic Muscular Dystrophy - an inherited disease that causes weakness and wasting away of muscle tissue. Jillian had almost seven surgeries adding up to 14 scars on her body, countless doctor visits, and great physical therapy that has helped her become who she is today. At the age of 12, she got her first electric wheelchair and felt like a Wonder Woman. The eldest of three girls in a Dominican family, Mercado's parents initially feared her Muscular Dystrophy would limit her. They never made her feel different or special in any way and showed her the true meaning of the word determination. At 19, she enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Technology to study Merchandise and management. In 2014, Mercado featured in her first campaign, for designer denim brand Diesel. Its success captured the attention of IMG Models President Ivan Bart and landed her a modelling contract with IMG in August 2015. She has since starred in several campaigns for Nordstrom as well as in former Vogue Paris In March 2016, Mercado was announced as one of three models to appear in the latest campaign for Beyoncé's official website, promoting merchandise for the singer's new single and 2016 Formation world tour. UNBELIEVABLE Coincidences That Really Happened
Wildly unbelievable coincidences that actually happened! These oddly fortuitous strokes of luck are the craziest real life flukes to ever be recorded. From a 50-year football curse to an unsinkable stewardess, today we look at UNBELIEVABLE Coincidences That Really Happened! #8 Curse of Bobby Layne The world of sports has changed drastically over the course of the last half-century, but there has been one consistency: The Detroit Lions have not won a championship in 61 years and counting. And some say legendary quarterback Bobby Layne is to blame. Following an incredible eight years with the Lions in which he led the team to three championships, played in four Pro Bowl games, and was voted first team All-Pro twice, Layne was traded to Pittsburgh. Upon receiving the news, he supposedly responded by saying Detroit would “not win for 50 years.” And in many ways, he was right. The Detroit Lions have a number of records that are less than flattering, including the only team that has been in the NFL since 1970 and has never been to a playoff game and the first team to have a winless record of 0-16 in a 16-game season. While the curse is supposed to be long over, the Detroit Lions still have a steep summit to climb back to the top. #7 Morgan Robertson’s The Wreck of the Titan Fourteen years before the sinking of the RMS Titanic, a novella written by Morgan Robertson detailed a similar journey and consequential sinking. The book, titled “The Wreck of the Titan: Or, Futility” follows the story of a man named John Rowland as he drunkenly survives the voyage, iceberg crash, and return to mainland. A redemption story of sorts, the novella doesn’t seem too aware of its grave subject matter. But that doesn’t mean the parallels between the two are missing. The Titan was 800 feet long and displaced 75,000 tons in the novel, a size not too much heavier than the Titanic and just a bit shorter than it too. Both the Titan and the Titanic were described as being “unsinkable” and having too few lifeboats. Both instances struck a tree at a pace of more than 20 knots. The ships had similar builds, number of casualties, and even shared the same propeller design. So when the Titanic went down in 1912, the world couldn’t help wonder if Robertson was clairvoyant. He went on to claim the similarities were all because of his extensive maritime knowledge...not his ability to see the future.

How to Walk with a Cane Correctly - Ask Doctor Jo
How to Walk with a Cane Correctly: http://www.AskDoctorJo.com Doctor Jo shows you the correct way to walk with a cane if you have an injury. For more physical therapy videos or to Ask Doctor Jo a question, visit http://www.AskDoctorJo.com Doctor Jo on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/AskDoctorJo Doctor Jo on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/AskDoctorJo More Details About This Video: Using a cane or crutch when you have an injury can be very confusing especially when characters on TV shows don't even use them right! Once you get the hang of it, it becomes very easy and natural. When we walk normally, our opposite arm swings forward with our opposite leg. When using a cane, you want the same technique so you don't risk injuring something else while you are recovering. The most important part to start with is to make sure your cane is the right height. Most canes have a pin you can push in to change the height. On your upper leg there is a bone that sticks out called your greater trochanter. It is just below your hip. This is where you want the top of the cane. You should have a slight bend in your elbow about 20 degrees. If the cane is too high, you might irritate your shoulder, and if it is too low, you might lean over too much. Now for the walking part. The cane should be in the opposite hand of the injured side. Yes, House, MD did it wrong! The cane should always move with the injured side. If the injured side goes forward, the cane goes forward for support. Again, this is how our bodies naturally move; so don't think about it too much. Just move how you would normally move. The cane should be for balance and safety, and if you feel like you are pushing really hard on it, or if you can't walk smoothly, then you probably are not ready for a cane yet. A. A. Allen Miracles In JESUS' Name - Must See
“The Miracle Man” Night after night, the waves of Divine Glory so sweep over the congregation that many testify of being healed while sitting in their seats.1 Asa Alonzo Allen was perhaps one of the most important revivalists to emerge during the Voice of Healing revival.2 He was certainly the most sensational of his time, and not surprisingly drew a great deal of criticism and controversy. But all told, he was faithful to pursue God’s call on his life and as a result ushered a mighty move of the Spirit that swept the nation with powerful miracles, signs and wonders. In a time when the impact of other healing evangelists was diminishing, Allen was gathering momentum. Throughout the 1950’s, and into the 1960’s, Allen built a far-reaching worldwide ministry ultimately comprising an international radio program, magazine, Bible school and ministry training center, as well as overseas missions programs. The backbone of his ministry, however, was the massive tent revivals and healing crusades. The Dreadful Past What makes Allen’s ministry success all the more amazing is the childhood he had to overcome. Of all the hardship stories, his home life was among the most dreadful. Allen and his six siblings had two alcoholic parents who were wild drunks, brewed their own liquor, and grew their own smoking tobacco. For entertainment they gave their kids this moonshine and watched them get drunk. Allen’s mother put home brew in his baby bottle to keep him from crying, and he was smoking before he was old enough to go to school. Needless to say, the Allen home was not a happy one. There were constant tussles. Allen’s mother left his father when A. A. was only four years old to marry another abusive, alcoholic. By the time he was six, he was carrying tin buckets of beer home from the saloon to his stepfather. This man left his mother when A. A. was eleven, at which time Allen attempted to run away himself. If the weather had not turned bad, he might have succeeded. He left home for good when he was fourteen. Meeting Jesus By the time Allen was twenty-one, his health had badly deteriorated. He had the shakes so bad he couldn’t light a cigarette or hold a cup of coffee without spilling it. His chest burned and he was racked with a deep, hacking cough. Even his memory was slipping. He was already dying the death of an old man. Hoping to restore his health there, he returned home to the farm where his mother still lived. The two of them soon slipped into their old ways and started stilling their own liquor and hosting wild parties. Their regular Saturday night shindig became known as the “Allen Dance Hall and Still.” A neighbor had a different type of celebration in mind. He was a Pentecostal preacher who wanted to start a Holy Ghost revival out of his home just down the road. He and his little flock started to pray that the Allen parties would stop—they prayed that the Lord would either run him out of the neighborhood or kill him. God did better than that. Allen happened upon a country Methodist church one day where they were singing and dancing inside. Out of curiosity he went in and was mesmerized by the woman preacher and the celebratory atmosphere. He knew he wanted what they had. The next night he returned and answered the altar call to be saved. From that point on, the parties and bootlegging ended.
